You can either complain your way through this course or connect via the community and enjoy it by pushing through. Coding is not easy but if you want to you can get a lot out of this course and possibly change careers.

You learn a huge amount on this course, covering all of the languages involved in building a Web application. However at times the course content has felt difficult to keep up with, as well as needing to be brought up to date with the latest developments in this area. Overall a very positive experience though, and one that has made me far more confident in remote learning.

Read More course to learn a base level of all aspects of programming and you will also realise where you may need to improve your knowledge once it is over. Overall, I would recommend the course for anyone who has the appetite to learn, even if they are a complete beginner as ample support is available.

Read More respond extremely well to feedback on the content (So don't be afraid to say something might be wrong, out of date or too difficult) Cons/Little niggles: The 9-5. When you're learning from home, the bootcamp can feel a little restrictive due to mandatory stand up and stand downs, but otherwise you're left to your own devices. Qualification. You won't receive a university accredited qualification for passing the bootcamp. For that you must take the paid year long course. Hackathons. As they aren't marked and are all group work, you can encounter some students that haven't adapted to the pace of the course and struggle. Resulting in the final product being less than ideal (It happens!), but it's difficult when you want to potentially use that as projects to add to a professional CV. Overall, this bootcamp was amazing for the entry fee of nothing. I would highly recommend learning some other industry standard content like React, C# etc that are not covered as the course content won't guarantee you getting to interview ready, but rather that you're able to learn fast, know good code practice and have dabbled in some core coding languages so that you can go onto learning what recruiters/businesses need far easier than starting out by yourself.

Cons: I wish the course could have been longer, not so long that Stockholm Syndrome kicks in, but another couple of weeks here and there wouldn't have hurt. Try the 5-Day Challenge and get an idea if coding is for you, then wade in!!

I signed up to Code Institute to get some practical experience of working on real applications (my studies up to that point involved basic projects) and to update my skill set with the latest technology. The course tasked me with completing five projects... Read More that reflected real world commercial applications. I was assessed in a number of areas including source control and coding style which were a huge help to me as it gave me the discipline required to enter the professional environment. My tutor was with me every step of the way and as well as introducing me to the latest technologies, I was given great advice on upcoming technologies that would be useful in my portfolio. Code Institute have a very community driven approach which encourages students to collaborate and build confidence. It was this community approach that helped me land my dream job.
