I don't regret my decision. The projects have high requirements but you're able to build a strong portfolio that gives you a lot to talk about in interviews! Taking part in the Hackathons, attending the career webinars and engaging with the various channels on Slack all added to the learning experience and you will make some incredible connections. I much preferred the above to learning on my own and trying to navigate this new industry as a career switcher.

I enjoyed the course very much! A very ample range of techs included in the curricula, specially for a newbie to the industry. Still there is room for improvement, overall update in some lessons as tech never stop evolving, but those moments pushed me... Read More as student to learn to research for an solution, skill that I find very valuable now. The community is amazing, CI is involved but mostly are students helping each other, which helps to learn to communicate, exchange ideas and problem solving. Facilitators and TA were very good. TA can be a bit slow sometimes but most of time I found them very helpful. The mentor I was assigned was great at guide me, always listen to my ideas and helped to take them the right direction. Things weren't perfect but in general happy with the experience. I haven't concluded the career hub, for that reason I can't review on it but there are constants workshops on.

Whenever I got stuck with my project I knew I could turn to tutors and they would lead me towards a solution. Mentor support is a fantastic way to help students maintain a strategic direction during the course. Webinars available throughout the course are a great way to get insight into soft knowledge in the field and also help maintain a sense of direction and motivation. I'm not sure if the 12-15 hours per week that are mentioned in the materials is quite enough time to keep up with the course and complete all the projects within the deadlines. I'd say it's a bare minimum but I suppose it depends on the student's background and personal talents. I think I dedicated more time than that. The opportunity to take part in hackathons is a wonderful taster of how working on a live project might look like. Altogether the whole process was a great adventure, a huge challenge and a massively rewarding experience for me.

I graduated with an integrated Masters in Medicinal and Pharmaceutical Chemistry but realising that I had no passion for the field, I decided to make a career change. I didn't know what change to make it to, but after developing an interest in code and... Read More encouragement from developer friends, I decided to enrol in a bootcamp. I enrolled in Code Institute through the Learning People, after doing the 5-day coding challenge, and finding the experience to be a thrill. Over the year, I found the course to be beginner friendly, practical and engaging. I appreciated the combination of lessons and challenges which culminates in a project for each unit. The course covers HTML, CSS, JavaScript and Python in depth, with various libraries and frameworks. But not so much other programming languages such as C#, Java, PHP and so on. Each project includes walkthroughs of example projects that allow you to put all you've learned to practice before starting your own project. As someone who learns the best by -doing-, I found this suited me perfectly. I was provided with wonderful mentors, tutor help and support in the form of other students on the Code Institute slack. The assessment team provided me with brilliant feedback after my submissions that helped me to become a better developer and ready for the professional world of tech. The Careers team were also very helpful, giving me CV and Cover Letter advice, which gave me the confidence to search for roles. I have received a job offer and I am ever so grateful to CI for everything I've learned.

I attended a 25 week full stack course with code institute, it was quite intense with a lot of obstacles but with our individual and group efforts managed to overcome and complete the course. Also, tutoring and mentoring sessions worked really well and... Read More helped me to finish the course. There are still ongoing issues with IDE platform but hopefully, that won't affect future students who would like to attend this course.

Having a cohort facilitator was a great asset as it gave students the feeling of having someone to turn to at all times. While later project deadlines were a bit tight and caused the odd moment of stress, it also encouraged to me persevere and adjust my work process and project planning accordingly - all skills I value a lot now. A great part of this course is the Careers Hub. Especially for career changers entering the tech industry is very intimidating. Having such a supporting team and meeting a lot of peers in the same boat gave me the confidence to put myself out there and I am very happy with my new career. I wish I'd had a bit more time to complete this course purely for the sake of deepening my understanding what was being taught. However, this is now a case for future projects. And finishing a course with the desire to learn more can only be a good thing.
