Read More largely thanks to the amount CW taught me during the 12 weeks. PROS: - JavaScript heavy curriculum with a focus on React, one of the most in demand programming libraries in the job market. - Lots of room for “self-discovery”, do whatever interests you for your projects with whatever framework you want. - Knowledgeable and dedicated instructors who are willing to go the extra mile to explain the trickiest topics; especially the on-site tutors! - A tough application process; this is good because it clears your doubt on whether a bootcamp is for you and ensures your classmates are also up for the challenge! - An emphasis on scrum methodology and teamwork! CONS: - The CEO has a big ego and lacks some empathy; although I never communicated with him directly, he has caused some unnecessary stress to other students and in turn, gave the campus a negative vibe at times. - Most instructors do not have industry experience and are recent graduates of the bootcamp itself, so they lack knowledge on the best practices when developing in the real world. (e.g. Testing, CI/CD, QA & Deployment) - I expected more from the Job Support; Marc helps you with formatting your CV and LinkedIn, but nothing more; sadly, Codeworks is still not recognized by many employers so you’re really on your own with this one. On the flip side, most graduates did find a job after a month or 2 of searching!

Pre-course and the course prepare you, and teach you so much, that now in my job I have more or less the same knowledge as the people who are working for a year. It is really intense bootcamp where you won't be able to do anything else, but code, for 12 weeks. You will read, study, write and dream code. You will be coding for 6 days a week, and 12 hours per day and you need to be ready for this both physically and mentally. Even the aplication process and pre-course are really demanding in a way that you will need to make a small game before the bootcamp. The teachers are excellent, always trying to give you the best answers and solutions. Even if sometimes seems that you are stuck, and some things are super confusing, the curriculum is made in that way, that in the end everything makes sense. By the end of 3 month, you will be prepared to search for a job with 3 real-life projects in your CV. I was able to find a job in less than a month after finishing the bootcamp and without any pre-knowledge in the field. I am really satisfied with the knowledge and support I got. All recommendations! 10/10

I attended this coding bootcamp in Berlin. One big plus is that the programme doesn't start from zero. You need to pass some coding tests and assignments to get accepted there - that means you need some prior coding experience. The programme is really... Read More well structured and it covers topics like advanced JavaScrip, data structures, databases, testing and frameworks like Angular, React and Node.js. You will finish the bootcamp with two personal projects - one coded alone and one within a team. The codeworks staff is really friendly and extremely helpful. One of the most positive aspect is a career support at the end of the programme. They will do some tech interview training with you and help setting up your github and linkedIn profile. Additionally they have some really helpful tips regarding the job search and the whole application process. I am really happy that I did codeworks - it was challenging and at lot of work but in the end it all paid off. I learned a lot during the course and I found a job within 3 weeks after graduation.

I came into the course with some prior self taught knowledge, but felt I was lacking some fundamental understanding which was causing a lot of issues. The course starts with focusing on the basics and teaches you a deep understanding of why and how things are working, and then progresses into putting what you've learnt into creating bigger things. The curriculum is well thought out and the daily challenges are a cool way to see your own progression. One of my favourite parts of the experience was that all the students were motivated and everyone was there to better themselves and help each other. All the staff were really helpful and friendly, Leo was my class's main lecturer and he went above and beyond not only during the school day, but organising things for the weekend which really brought the group together. I started my full stack developer job 3 weeks after graduating ! I would highly recommend!

The curriculum is really well planned and takes into account the latest changes in the industry. Classes are qualitative, and there are a lot of practical exercises and "real life" experiences. On top of that, the support from the teachers is amazing. The Bootcamp is crazy intense but doable if you are really motivated, and definitely worth it in my opinion!

After I passed the admission process, it was time to start pre-course. Pre-course was no joke either. Again, it was a challenge but there are weekly support sessions to get you unstuck. The course itself was exactly as described, intensive. They are serious when they say 12 hours a day, but most of us also spent Sundays reviewing and getting ready for weekly assessments. During the Junior part, you will focus more on learning new concepts and technologies. During the Senior part, you put it into work by building projects. Last week is focused on getting you ready for the job hunt. Barcelona campus is beautiful, spacious, and safe during times of pandemic. Instructors, TA’s and admission team are friendly and dedicated to making you succeed. About my outcome: As my background is in nursing I was not sure if I would fit, manage, or get hired. Codeworks gave me the tools and support necessary to succeed and 5 weeks after graduation I was offered the position of Software engineer in the company of my dreams.

Pros: - Well structured curriculum: by the end, you know what you need to know to get a job and keep learning by yourself - Learning by doing: most of the time is spent on practice through exercises while pairing with a fellow student, with help available to get you unstuck when needed - Senior projects: the closest thing you can get to actual work experience in a team. Cons: - Intense: make sure you have the energy and environment required to work 6 days/week, 12 hours/day - Takes longer to get into than most other bootcamps: longer admission process + 160h of pre-course work that is really worth spending time on. Don't try to rush it or you may find yourself struggling at the start - Javascript only: does one thing and does it well. Learning other languages will be important later on, but you need to know the Javascript ecosystem if you want to be full stack. You can become really good at JS or mediocre at two languages, and how many Ruby jobs are there out there ?

I’ll start from the end: I got a job offer around 1,5 months from graduation (during 3rd wave of pandemics in the country I reside!). In other... Read More words, I got what I came for - job as a developer! In addition, I had amazing experience and created great relationships with people there, some I believe for life. The course itself for me, was as intense as it is advertised. If you want to get great results I believe that it requires your full commitment. It took me several months on mixing full-time job with getting through first admission phase (there are two if you start from zero JS knowledge!), then another month through the official pre-course (I came from sales and communication field, so it was a mindblower - I know that some did it faster tough). Everyone in my group struggled at various points, however we were all extremely motivated and it created great atmosphere of team working towards the same goal. Instructors can also be very stimulating and knowledgable. In additional to theoretical and practical software engineering input you can work on some transferable skills like problem solving, reading the documentation (that definitely during pre-course), working with tools used in the industry (not only by devs) and boost on a various of soft skills.
