So if you think you'll feel alone during the process, you won't! Right in week one you have an 1 hour call with your mentor. Additionally, for me being new on UX/UI design (although I'm an architect and filmmaker) the lessons were very instructive and helpful to understand everything. Some people will feel that could be a lot of reading, but I thought it was necessary in order to understand this "new thing." And those lessons also have a refreshing and relaxed tone where you don't feel someone is lecturing you on something hard, and you can even listen to them if you want. In my case I prefer to read because I retain more information compared to listening.

For me this course was awesome. So much that I'll be enrolling in the UX Academy course (21-36 weeks) very soon.

I totally recommend it if your thinking on getting on the UX/UI Design world doing a longer course.

And maybe… I could be one?” It doesn’t throw you into the deep end of Figma on day one. Instead, it’s a well-paced stroll through the basics without needing a tech dictionary to decode it. I finished it feeling smarter, more confident, and actually excited to learn more. If you’re UX-curious, UX-confused, or just UX-clueless and need a sign to start somewhere, this is it. No gimmicks. Not only will a professional mentor guide you through the entire course, but they will also support your individual strengths and weaknesses—encouraging or challenging you to successfully complete the program and your final project. I think I had an advantage of having a graphic design background when it came to a lot of the basics of UI but it was a great experience in learning Figma since... I think as long as you take advantage of all of the videos, how-to guides, watching Figma tutorials and soaking up all the knowledge your mentor can offer, it'll make your overall experience totally worth it. I do think that some of the time estimates were off, some things took longer than they stated but otherwise I highly recommend, especially if you are new to the UX/UI design space. Also the DL support team respond pretty quick and are really helpful with all of the questions or concerns you have. They were really flexible with me since I moved internationally during the duration of the course.

Pros:

Acknowledges AI’s Growing Role: I was initially concerned that the program might ignore AI’s impact on design. While they don’t explicitly teach AI tools, they do thoughtfully incorporate how emerging AI technologies can support UX workflows, which was something I really appreciated.

Thoughtful Curriculum: The course builds progressively, helping beginners and career-switchers develop real confidence in UX—from research and sketching to wireframes and visual design.

Hands-On Learning: Working on a real project and moving from idea to execution made the learning process both practical and inspiring.

Flexible Yet Structured: While self-paced, the course still has a strong framework of deadlines and mentor check-ins to keep momentum going.

Cons:
Time-Intensive: Balancing this course with other responsibilities requires strong time management, especially in the later units when projects get more complex.

Figma Material Needs Updating: Some tutorials reference older versions of Figma, which can cause confusion. A refresh to match the latest Figma interface would improve the experience.

Very few cons. Some of the text that is read to you from the ausdio option sometimes doesn't match the written portion.
Some of the exercises didnt' have the same ui as current version of figma but I think I took the program while in the middle of one of those major version changes. Overall great and rewarding experience.
