As the title states, HyperionDev is refusing to award certificates to students. Imagine working hard for 3 months to be told we won't award you a certificate even though you've completed the course. On starting the course, all students are informed they... Read More will receive a certificate if all tasks are completed. Now, at the last minute, near the end of the course, they have informed all students unless you: 1, Complete all tasks AND 2. receive an interview at a company before 31st March we won't give you a certificate Clearly, they have implemented this to ensure they get paid by the UK DfE. The UK government is funding this dodgy organisation, so will be contacting them to inform them of this clear breach of the rules. HyperionDev needs to change their dodgy tactics. Until they change this, I cannot recommend, and urge others to apply elsewhere. Anywhere but here!

Read More new to programming -you have a full/part-time job -you have family .amoun of time they claim you need to study doe not represent reality, because a lecture on its own lasts at time 3 hours(most of the time it is not justified, simply dragging), then you need to read the study material and when you get to the compulsory tasks you realise that all the information you have been consuming is irrelevant in many scenarios and you start digging the internet. .as part of compulsory tasks they require you to apply for the relevant jobs, bear in mind you do not have any of the skills asked in job descriptions. .a support. they claim it is available at every corner but this is not valid. To get a mentor call in order to get help with a subject, you have to book a week ahead and like in my case, for almost two months these were not available in the evenings, so you are on your own. .inconsitency in expectations, for some reviewers your code doe not meet the criteria for others it might be excellent and vice versa. .tasks for the subjects are written on the lap, without an appreciation of what students should know. It is your choice. The purpose of my honest review is to warn aspiring developers and spur improvement in the HyperionDevs program.

I have found the course to be somewhat frustrating due to the lack of support. Mentors are no longer available through Discord which has meant up to a two week wait simply to be able to receive help via a 1:1 call – this is not in line with the quota... Read More of 8 mentor calls per month. On one occasion the mentor was unable to help and said they would speak to a colleague and get back to me – I did not hear back from the mentor despite sending a chaser. On another occasion the mentor was unable to assist during 1:1 call (after waiting two weeks for the appointment) because they had not covered this topic before (Django II). Emailing the support team has meant delays of up to one week, simply to hear that my problem is being looked into. For someone who has no previous coding experience, it is hard to explain the disappointment and frustration at the lack of support/follow up. I had previously raised concerns about falling behind with course work and the response was ‘Please try to catch up as much as you can. You are more than welcome to contact us a week before your support end date to discuss your extension options.’ There have been some improvements, such as more realistic submission dates for course work (despite two of the tasks having dates that are beyond my 6 month course duration). Whilst I have been enjoying the course content and the reward of good feedback/grades following course submissions, the lack of support adds unnecessary anxiety, especially as I approach the final quarter of course. Ultimately, I have lost confidence in their ability to deliver this course.

Hyperiondev is a good education system. My course started on 5 September 2022. This course was fully online but I could make an appointment book one-on-one with my mentors or other mentors to get the support. All time when I finished my tasks and required... Read More code review. I got a very good comment for my task. They give me good suggestions and what could be improved. I learn more from the code review. Before the course, My code style and programming document was very poor. Now I have confidence after the mentor's suggestion and support. I feel good in this field when I have a new job in the future. My course has four levels. Every level has different course content from beginner to expert. You will be better when you complete all the tasks and finish the course.

The mentors are also helpful without making the course too easy for you. My suggestion is making mentors more quickly available to students. The knowledge I have gained from HyperionDev is of a superior stature and I am now confident in my skills as a programmer.
