The fact that there are a lot of materials on the Internet that you can learn .. but on the course under the supervision of an instructor you will learn how to use this knowledge. With that school I systematized knowledge, gained new skills and tools actually used by developers.
What I think is the most important is that after the completion of my course I'am in constant contact with SDA and my instructors.

And what I think is the most important, after the completion of the course, I am in constant contact with SDA and instructors.

The course encompasses 17 modules that provide the significant amount of knowledge in a relatively short period of time. At first sight, the schedule of the course appears to be very structured, but it is communication between the academy, coordinator/... Read More coordinators and participants that makes a huge difference in terms of the preferences of participants as well as when it comes to notions and subjects that are discussed and elaborated with the teachers. I truly believe that communication is the part and parcel of this course. It does not take long to realise that the teachers who are professional programmers will tell you about the things that one would not find on the internet. I know that Dr Google knows everything, but believe me that it is not always the case and I tested it too many times on my own skin.

What is more, I purposefully used the word “module” instead of a lesson, lecture or even the lab because it seems that none of these words fully captures the true form of that time spent in class. In terms of each of the modules, they provide the heavy workloads and it really needs to be remembered that the amount of time spent in class is more often than not only the beginning of what one is supposed to do on their own when they leave the classroom. Therefore, one should be aware that being systematic and organised would make their lives a lot easier. Otherwise, one might get a “programming hiccup” which will be unpleasant in the long run especially that the pace of the course is fast.

On the one hand, it definitely is a challenging task to master these skills by participants, but on the other hand participants would feel that each module serves as a kind of a “building block”. I believe that it might be much clearer to perceive the modules as these “building blocks” at the end of the course because it is rather hard do that when one is only one month into the course and everything seems to be at least a bit too complex and demanding. However, as time goes by and the more one is into the course, the more various things begin to click with one another and the code becomes clearer.

Finally, I have always appreciated the fact that the SDA promoted the culture of communication, the “there-are-no-wrong-questions” attitude, and yet they seem to keep in touch with their graduates helping them in search of that very first place of work.

Dla osoby nie mającej wcześniej do czynienia z programowaniem kurs był świetnym wprowadzeniem do podstawowych technologii.

Po zakończeniu szkolenia zaoferowana została nam pomoc w znalezieniu pracy, zawierająca w profesjonalne warsztaty ze specjalistami od rekrutacji i pomoc w szukaniu potencjalnego pracodawcy.

Kurs który daje solidne fundamenty i wprowadza w świat testowania. Bardzo przydatny, porządkuje wiedzę i nadaje kierunek indywidualnej nauce już po kursie. Prace znalazłem dość szybko, zaledwie miesiąc po kursie. Wystarczyło stosować się do rad i wskazówek... Read More trenerów aby osiągnąć tak szybki rezultat. Do pewnych fragmentów kursu miałem uwagi. Natomiast Pani Magdalena Paturalska szybko reagowała na nie. Dzięki czemu problemy zostawały natychmiast rozwiązywane.

Jeśli myślisz że pójdziesz na kurs i sam udział gwarantuje ci prace to jesteś w błędzie. Wymagane jest zaangażowanie na zajęciach, po zajęciach i po samym kursie.
Natomiast z SDA staje się to łatwiejsze.

Pros:
The course covers a very broad amount of topics regarding Java language (Spring, hibernate, jdbc, java8, a bit of frontend etc);
The teachers are practitioners so the quality is very high.
The support with finding a job is the best - the HR class... Read More cover the preparation, then Open Days in companies are organised and interviews set up.
HR recruiters are more interested if you are an attendant of this course.
At the end of the course you work within your course group and build a fully functional application which you post on your repository which will increase you chances to get the job.
In the middle of the course over half of the attendees got the job.

The cons of the course:
- You need to spend a lot of time at home practicing the knowledge you learned on the weekend course;
- Sometimes the amount of knowledge to learn can discourage you, but you should be prepared for that (the topic is very complex and you should know that beforehand);
- Practice, practice and practice - it takes time.
