Read More of self-learning using platforms such as udemy, coursera, etc., it was WCD Bootcamp that gave me the big picture of how real-world problems get tackled by the hands of data scientists, engineers, and AI specialists. Even homework practices were designed in a way to prepare you for the job. The attitude and the hardworking culture of all employees at WCD is astonishing. They always try to be there for you even after the program. I encourage anyone who has the minimum math and basic programming skills to attend this program if they want to have a smooth career switch.

The instructors were able to explain thoroughly and promptly in way that made no one uncomfortable. They would take extra time, offline, with the slower pace students and would offer to answer extra questions asynchronously to achieve every objective of each class. Eventually everything would be crystal clear. They also offer the service of a TA that would go the extra mile to help you and answer questions, not only related to the program, but also the career paths, job search and many other topics. After the end of the course they also offer a few sessions to go over your curriculum and assign you a mentor to give you support during your job search and the very beginning of your new career. They become your partners and mentors for as long as you want them in your new professional journey.

I am working as a Revenue Assurance Analyst at Rogers now, and if I had not taken this course; learned SQL, Python, Tableau and machine learning (which was definitely required for this role), I would have never been able to get it. Everyone put in such a genuine effort towards my goal, words won’t do justice in expressing my gratitude to each and everyone at WeCloud. All the Instructors and TA’s- Shaohua, Vinny, Shan, Sonia, Ernesto and Tianshu were amazing; extremely patient, and they were always available. One thing I really loved being a student at WeCloudData is to witness the passion and the vision that Shaohua (the Co-Founder) has for WeCloud and it’s students. It’s important to understand why he felt necessary to start such an institution focused not just on delivering education or upgrading skills but to design the whole process in a way that assures securing a job at the very end, which even best of the universities and colleges at times fail to do. I have not met a person as hard-working as him. My life has completely changed now, not only on the professional front but also on the personal end; making a good living plays a very crucial role in your life, the sense of security, comfortable living, financial independence are all very important but even more crucial is the feeling of fulfillment and contentment in what you do, and I feel it now.

Cons: Honestly I cannot think of anything bad, but here are a few reminders : -If you want to fully digest everything in the bootcamp within a short period of time, you need to work a few extra hours every week. For instance, SQL and Python requires self-oriented exercises, and it is always a good idea to revisit projects taught in the course. -Take the bootcamp as an opportunity to network, talk to instructors and teaching assistances, everyone is eager to help. -Treat yourself as a DA/BI from the beginning of the program. I took courses at other colleges but chose WCD to study in the full time Data Science bootcamp program. I’ve learned so much and became more passionate about this field. I continued with them to study Data Engineering as I loved their cooperation and I got a good alumni discount. I didn’t have to apply for jobs after studying, my resume was so strong that I was headhunted and I landed on a great job opportunity through WCD. Read More from India and then I came to Canada 7 years ago as a student. I completed my business administration and Supply Chain & Logistics PG Diplomas from Toronto. After that I was successful in getting my first job as a logistics coordinator in a printing logistics company. I worked there for 1 year and after that I got an amazing opportunity with SCI Logistics as a Transportation Co-Ordinator where I got to learn a lot more about supply chain and customer retention. After that during the COVID pandemic, I decided to grow my career towards the data side and then I decided to do the data science program from WeCloud Data and within 3 months of the program completion, I was lucky enough to find a job as a Data Analyst. The most interesting thing what I found was that the exercises which were required to solve after the class which helps in understanding the concepts and gave me more confidence for the next class. The teaching style was really great in terms of how SQL or Python programming was explained as I had no background before on that. The real client projects gave me a exposure on the practical side of SQL and python which I learnt from my experience in this projects. Previously, I was only applying it in terms of the classroom aspect but for the real world these projects are really helpful and gave me proper insights of what needs to be done end to end. Read More - Instructors are great at delivering the material; always available for assistance - TA's were amazing and reachable at flexible hours; I always felt comfortable to bounce ideas with them; and to have their feedback - Really helpful TA sessions to go over problems assignments - Last couple weeks of the program, were assigned client projects that were very helpful in keeping sharp and continued to build industry skills for future potential employers - WeCloudData was very generous to offer additional resources not part of the program to help us be job ready Cons: (Not really cons, but I have nothing else to say) - the pace of the course is heavy, material is coming fast and in abundance, so be ready to work super hard and spending many hours working through challenging assignments. - Course was a little more pricey than other compared programs, but this program does have the quality of assigning you to real client work after you have completed a substantial amount of the curriculum.
