I just graduated with code institute front end developer and this is my experience with it. The course is well planned, it starts slow with html and CSS but the difficulty increases quickly with time, jumping to javascript, python and other technologies.... Read More The valuation system is really good, the projects really make you push the boundary and go to the next level. The customer service is really good, even though the course is remote, the tutors really help with questions and issues. Overall I recommend this course, it's really good and helps students getting their first job. Just be aware that the course is not easy so you need to commit to it and invest your time.

Apart from coding, the course also provided insights into the today’s industry standards, without overwhelming with unnecessary info. The course is not easy, with lot of content to absorb, but it is well-structured and I really liked how we, as students, were supposed throughout the learning process. We had weekly group calls, which allowed us to discuss and share problems or successes, the mentor sessions were very valuable, student and alumni community on Slack is great. Our portfolio projects had clear requirements and results came with valuable detailed comments from assessors. The other valuable recourse I appreciated is career hub. The career team is very active. They constantly conduct webinars and there is a separate course module that not only teaches how to write CVs but also how the industry looks from the inside, so that you know what to expect when you land your first job. I would highly recommend this course to anyone considering a career change into the software industry.

It's a very fast paced course if you pick the 5 months. Short deadlines and high emphasis on personal planning. Slightly annoying training modules with case sensitive checks ( even looking for capital letters and dots in comments) Took me a long time... Read More to realize that my code was correct but I was missing a dot in a long print string. Ended up copy pasting any sentences. The weekly calls with the group was the best help as project examples were provided and walked through. Tutoring was a hit or miss depending on the issue and who was helping. Mentoring was also felt like it was mainly for design of the webpage and nothing more. Good feedback once the project was finally reviewed. Overall happy with the outcome.

I've just graduated from Code Institute with the Advanced FrontEnd specialisation. My background is 15+ years in IP Networking, where I have worked in several technical positions. I was always trying to find a "guided" start into software development.... Read More This one year course has finally helped me to achieve this goal. I have learned so much. It was a very tough year, besides day job, but it was all worth it. The concept of CI is really great, starting from the actual self paced content in the LMS to the pillars of support. To me, one of the biggest values was the mentor, which you get assigned. However, it is not limited to that. CI provides a huge set of offers under the umbrella "Career Support". There they help you to improve your CV, cover letter and guide you in the process to apply for software related jobs. It's not just administrative help, they have a team of former recruiters and professionals out of this field. Reflecting on this year, it was the best decision I made. I would do it definitely again, if I would have to decide.

Wow! What a change the last year has been. I started the course not being 100% sure if I had made the right choice. Read More price in comparison to the competition and also offered a lot more flexibility in terms of how long the course is and how much time you need to put in (and the bonus of doing it whenever you want). I would say if you prefer to be sat in lectures/lessons at specific times with a set structure then this is not the course for you. You need to be able to motivate yourself. The course material felt good and it was mostly a good mixture of videos, reading and mainly practical lessons. You are also encouraged to do a bit of research yourself to further understand some of the intricacies in certain areas. The community itself is based on Slack and is a very active and engaging group comprised of students, tutors, mentors, alumni and other staff. They are very willing to help where they can or point you to a place/person that can. Code Institute also hold hackathons which students and alumni can team up to produce some very fun projects. I didn't use the support, mentor or tutor functions much but I had a positive experience with timely responses on the occasions that I did. There's also a careers hub which can put you in a good position to start job hunting with a bit of success. I actually got myself a new job before my course ended using 4 of the 5 portfolio projects I had completed. Overall this course and it's services has taught me a huge amount of things, helped me grow as a person and set me on the path to a brighter future.

Really enjoyed the course and how it's structured. They also offer great ways to improve apart from the main course , eg they organise monthly hackathons which are great fun, have regular seminars touching on many relevant topics, have a great mentor... My journey with Code Institute has been nothing but positive. I started with the five-day coding challenge and was instantly hooked. I started the Full Stack Developer course with the full intention of making a career change, which I have been lucky enough... Read More to have achieved. The course is well-structured for somebody with zero experience, to give them the tools needed to create full stack web applications. On top of the technical know-how, there is a big focus on the factors required for actually landing a job, outside of the code itself. This involves factors such as LinkedIn, your CV and building up your software portfolio. There are multiple avenues of support, most notably the CI Slack group, which has channels catering to all aspects pertinent to the course and beyond. Code Institute offers something rare - a chance to grow and change your career with no downsides! I chose Code Institute to forward my career and would highly recommend it to anybody seeking a meaningful challenge.

I have been wanting to change my career for a while from being a chef working in kitchens. I started the course with not much of a background in IT or software development. The course became more challenging as the projects progressed. I found the learning... Read More content in the first three projects to be excellent, with challenges included in the units that really helped me understand the syntax before moving on to the next challenge. This gave me full confidence to build a project with all that was taught. However, in the 4th and 5th projects (more backend development, Django, Databases, Stripe), I found the content not to be as thorough. There were many videos to watch with lots of information thrown at you, and no challenges to learn and test the code. I would begin my 4th or 5th project being able to develop the front end easily but having to almost walk through the unit videos. It almost felt like I was copying the demo projects. I personally had to outsource a lot of learning content to help me understand the code properly. But, other than these few minor issues, the content is outstanding. I have to praise the student care team, though. They were absolutely brilliant for me. Unfortunately, at the time, I suffered a family event that made me unable to commit to the coursework. Student care understood and gave me study leave, so I could not thank them enough. My tutor, Tim, was also amazing. I was able to achieve higher grades with the insights and information he gave me and he was always there to help if I was stuck on an error. Overall, I highly recommend this course. For me, it has been a very good investment in my future.

This course is life changing for me. I had no background of IT and had not even seen a line of Code but after this course I had built various Websites. I was also able to get a job within 3 weeks after completion of course. I would love to thank Code...
