I have previously tried learning Python from a Udemy course, it was great however I find it difficult to retain the concepts hence thought that maybe Python was not for me. Fast forward a few months, I decided to map how I will go about pursuing a career in Data Science. After researching blogs on the different boot camps and courses available, I thought of giving DataCamp (free version) a try. Since then, I have been consistently progressing, reviewing, practising Python through Datacamp and can't wait to complete it! :)
* Free version gives a good overview
* Mobile and PC versions available
* Practices are bite-sized and can be completed quickly
* Content structure is great with practical exercises in between
* Easy to navigate through the Modules to review past content...

The courses were clearly built with love, and the instructors' enthusiasm for the subject shows in every exercise. Fantastic user experience!
Not a fan of 'input box learning' like Codecademy etc. and in truth, you won't become a data scientist with Data Camp alone. However, data science is something that many people need a little hand holding, so the format of instruction lends itself well to the content.
Short video and good number exercise and also quizzes.
Each time I move on to next chapter I feel confident and it was interesting to continue instead of feeling bored.
Thanks to DataCamp, Glad I picked the right choice among other online courses.
I've tried many methods to learn Python and have often stopped halfway or just stopped altogether. No ebook, mobile app, or tutorial has taught me as much as I have on DataCamp. I've enjoyed my experience so much I've begun to broaden my sights on not just learning Python but hopefully R as well.

I heard about DataCamp from another free skills website and decided to browse the DataCamp website. I didn't have a background in data science and coding. DataCamp helped me learn about Python in a way that was easy, self-paced, and entertaining. I'm beginning to feel confident in my skills.
I loved the content developed for the course and the way the resources are presented. The learning platform is an amazing experience and the exercises are great practice and do not need to be performed on the same equipement. The ability to follow lessons and practice form mobile was key in acquiring some concepts.
I started last year as data scientist from the scratch. My knowledge had been build on DataCamp courses. In a very short time I got a lot of skills for my job. There are a lot of possibilities to learn and I love the structured system of DataCamp. Because of this I subscribed a year, and I think I will continue for another year.
Prior to trying DataCamp, I had tried various other courses including Lynda.com, Google, and YouTube. All of them assume a strong background in some other coding language or no experience with computers at all. DataCamp had the perfect pacing which allowed a beginner like me to pick up the basics of Python very quickly. I ended up subscribing to an annual membership afterwards and have enjoyed everything since then as well.
My only criticism of DataCamp, and any web-based environment, is that a lot of the practice of staging data and writing the preparatory code is lost when everything is so focused on the individual exercises.
I love the user experience of the course, which offers and interactive web-based coding platform and relieves me (as a beginner) the burden of installing all the related packages and software (though eventually necessary, it would be intimidating and create a barrier for some newbies ). The user interface is also very bright and clear. This altogether gave me an awesome feeling exploring the new programming language.
Similar to other Datacamp courses, it all used real-life (or at least imitations) data sets makes studying and conclusion extremely applicable and relevant to jobs and daily issues. This gives way for me, as a student, to think of similar or creative solutions to my own analytical problems in jobs.
DataCamp is a low stress, self-paced collection of short courses. That allows the student to enter the study of programming at a level they feel comfortable with and from there branch out in any direction that they find compelling. I come back to the site daily in order to practice new and old skills, in order to keep on elevating my proficiency.
Data Camp is a online, per month for yearly service, that provides experiential education for R, Python, Stats, GitHub, IDEs, and shell commands for data science. On the down side, there is no professor to talk to or build a relationship with for recommendations and mentorship (yet.) On the positive side:
1) Data camp is cheap
2) Datacamp is used by EdX for some of their certification programs
3) Datacamp has a community of new users, power users, educators, and instructors who are willing to answer all sorts of questions. They even have a podcast that breaks down concepts to a very easy to comprehend level.
4) Real world data sets and projects to implement knowledge right away
In the year I have used Datacamp, I've taking classes in R, Python, and statistics. In a very sho...Read more
