Once finished and seeing opinions of companies and students from other bootcamps, you realize why Skylab is undoubtedly the best Bootcamp in Barcelona.

Skylab is an 11 week, 24/7 coding experience, in the full depth of the term. Please take that in mind, because I really mean it. I've been professionally working in journalism/marketing for almost than 15 years, writing and analyzing and measuring and... Read More reporting and doing all that kind of things that marketers and journalists do, which is something that consumes the most of your time. But I've never been in such an immersive experience like Skylab before.

This is important to know: Skylab is not immersive because takes all your time, but because it requires a full-compromise. A real compromise with yourself in a long and unfathomable travel to reshape your mind, to learn/refine/update skills, and to find connections between ideas and a proper way to make them real. You'll find many reviews saying "I didn't code anything before and now I'm able to create stuff using top-notch tools", and former students saying "I've been programming for years and I've learn things I didn't even imagine before Skylab". Let me tell you something: both of them are true. It's not (just) about JS, it's about thinking.

For the sake of truth, I must also say that it wasn't "a walk in the park" for me, but that is exactly the point: it shouldn't be easy! Part of this travel (probably the best part) is that you'll find your own limits, which will eventually help you in any personal or working environment too. Besides, everything is ready to catch you if you fall down, and to help you stand up and keep fighting if you need to.

En Skylab en las 11 semanas de Bootcamp no solo aprendí Html, CSS, JS. Quizás lo más importante es como te incitan a aprender, trabajar, solucionar los problemas, etc. Aprendes que en grupo todo es más fácil, aprender a compartir el conociemiento, a ayudar... Read More y ser ayudado. Por eso creo que se centran mucho en el proceso de selección para formar un grupo ideal que fomente un rápido aprendizaje y que a pesar de ser duro y laborioso, con la ayuda del grupo sea más llevadero. Quizás el único punto en contra de skylab y de la mayoria de bootcamps es el mismo, no tener un certificado oficial. Pero esto solo se convierte en problema segun la empresa, si solonse fijan en titulos van a pensar que un bootcamp es un cursillo, pero en muchas empresas el titulo queda al margen y hay que demostrar la valía en alguna prueba técnica y es allí dónde uno demuestra lo mucho que ha aprendido en un bootcamp. De hecho, yo sin ningún título más que el bootcamp me encuentro trabajando como developer y eso se lo debo a Skylab y al bootcamp de Full-Stack Developer.

Si tuviera que describir a Skylab en una oración, el titulo de la review lo sería sin ninguna duda

Started by refreshing the basic commands of the Bash shell and ended up deploying a full fledged React application, built with hooks and making use of react-router-dom, unit tested with Jest. To encourage the good use of BEM and Sass, no CSS framework... Read More was used. The app's backend, tested primarily with Mocha/Chai and some Jasmine, was deployed to heroku, with a Rest Api written from scratch on a node/Express.js server, querying a mongo database via mongoose. Bootcamp training focused on the learning of good practices along the whole web development process, working on an Agile/Scrum framework, keeping version control with Git/Github, heavily emphasizing unit testing, semantics and, over everything else: team work. Tech learned: Javascript ES6, CLI, Git/GitHub, Markdown, HTML5,CSS,BEM, Sass, React.js, REST Api, Node.js, Express.JS, mongoDB, Mongoose, PUG, Jasmine, Mocha/Chai, Postman, Trello.
