The moderators keep an eye on the chat, answer questions while the international and domestic cohort members adds a different point of view that is based on their experience, or just post questions to dive deeper. The volunteers of the program are very educated in their fields and have a way of connecting and engaging with everyone. The best part of the program is the community and network that is organic and an overall excellent use of my time and energy. I attended every class with coffee in hand and found it was an invorgating way to start my day. Without hesitation, I would suggest and promote this class from the rooftops!

I got so much more than preparation for a scrum master certification. With the topics of Constraints Theory, Cognitive Bias, Multiple Mindsets, and Systems Thinking I have a much better understanding of how "Work" in the Knowledge World differs from "Work"... This course is a very comprehensive coverage of Agile. Larry covers everything you need to learn to take the standard tests and find work. If you are not in the Agile world you will understand the concepts of Agile and how to apply them in your own world.... Read More Larry is a great Leader and coach for leaders. You will learn a lot about understanding, motivating and helping teams of Knowledge Workers to become very efficient and effective teams. You will also walk away with a list of books, references and articles to help you keep on growing in your career. The class is designed to keep you awake and excited at 7:30am (Silicon Valley time) with lectures, discussions, exercises and video clips. I was always sad that the hour and a half are over. If you do not care about Agile take this class to learn about teaching adults and keeping them engaged. In addition to the excellent learning environment, you join a great family of professionals in the Knowledge area, the Job Hackers. I found the Agile MBA course under Larry Apke's leadership is simply excellent for several reasons. First, the breadth of the content provides a firm baseline of Agile mechanics and its application in the real project management world. I found that it... Read More effectively "rounded out" my formal Agile training. Secondly, the emphasis on the "human dimension" was especially useful especially from a holistic business systems perspective. Third, the very inclusive and positive leadership style that Larry used helped make the discussions very personal and engaging where participants clearly felt safe to actively participate. And of course, Larry's deft sense of humor demonstrated how confidence and passion for a subject can be quite infectious.

At first I thought the series of classes solely focused on becoming a Scrum Master. While Larry does set you up for success in learning about and understanding the official scrum guide to prepare you to take that test, his class goes well beyond that... Read More small task. If you are prepared to read 50 pages per day, I guarantee you will get much more out of his class and have a better understanding as he reiterates materials with added introspection. The book recommendations, although dated, actually give a very clear vision to the lack of changes that have occurred in business within the last 40 years. Larry and the books he references do a great job of aligning you on how to understand and work with legacy systems, seasoned leaders, and those who are trying to use Agile in today's businesses. The optional Friday breakout sessions were a great way to hear people's real-life experiences as well take a deeper dive with class discussions. I know I still have a lot to learn but I was floored by the amount of pure valuable information that was disseminated within a six-week timeframe by also being an active participant in these sessions. There is even an active slack channel to keep discussion open outside of class. The class helped me gain a deep understanding to how others work. It went beyond business practices and Agile frameworks to include cognitive bias, behaviors, leadership, systems thinking and the importance and success of productive office environments. We even had resume review sessions to hone in on our newly acquired skillsets and happy hours for those who just needed a breather.
