One feature requirement from me is that I want to be able to project the videos to a larger screen like a TV from my mobile phone (only the video itself, not mirror the phone's screen) so I can watch them more conveniently.

The whole curriculum is outdated and it seems like they have been recycling the same materials for more than 5 years. The restricted choices of case studies is nothing innovative which will only give you nothing more than some technical skillsets which... Read More any interviewers would not want. (they seek new UX designers with creative design thinking process but not just basic knowledges) If anyone has some design background, I would strongly not recommend this course but if someone start from the very very beginning, yea sure, but there are still other courses that are better than this

I'd say that much like many others during this pandemic, I found myself retrenched and that had a very negative impact on my livelihood mostly mentally. I was recommended to take up a UX design by a friend who was in the field already and saw that I had potential in it. Thus after much research, I found the UX Design Institute and its curriculum impressive and attractive. After enrolling, I was never left disappointed, the video lectures on every module by Colman were easy to understand and kept you attentive. The projects pushed you towards actual work-like scenarios and they were so fun to do. The best part I would say was the support from the team, they reply fast and are always encouraging with feedback and guidance. I have now completed the course and am currently job hunting, although nervous to embark on this new journey, I am confident with the new skills and knowledge I have acquired to push me through the next step. The entire course runs you through the stages of UX design, providing the perfect amount of theory and practice, with an emphasis on the latter. If you're a hands-on leaner, this is the way to go. It's also the only University-level accredited program... Read More in the world, and amazingly, it helped get me into a Master's program with no prior bachelor degree! The MA is actually unnecessary though as you can start building an excellent portfolio solely with what you learn from UXDI, and it can easily start a new career. The industry places an emphasis on portfolio over anything else, but it's the cherry on top that this program is internationally recognized and as such, holds some weight. I am switching to UX from healthcare. I had no idea about anything other than the obvious common sense things about technology. The course is very informative but sometimes a bit hard to follow for me. It took a while to see the logic behind the learning... Read More path. Getting feedback is decent but not as detailed as I needed. Luckily, I have a friend who's a UX designer and he recorded some video reviews of my final projects. That was when things came together. Otherwise, I didn't always understand what was being asked of me. I took additional courses to fill in the gaps along the way. Now as I am volunteering as a UX designer while applying for jobs, I see that the course prepared me well. I am able to follow along and contribute to discussions and start participating in projects. I feel that I am ready to be a UX designer, even though there is tons more to learn. This course prepares you to be an entry-level UX designer even if you come from a non-adjacent career but it you have to take the initiative to fill in the learning gaps yourself.

This program was exceptional. The course was split into easily digestable modules which could be completed at your own pace. The support was there when needed and the use of the Slack channel allowed me to chat and discuss with both other students and... Read More staff. The coursework was important in order to ensure i fully understood the content of the course whist also building a project to include in my design portfolio. Although I am already au fait with the design process this course placed emphasis on some areas which I do not consider enough as my design work has been primarily print based over the years. We also can all rely on our own preconceptions too much and these may not always be true to the consumers experience. I am now moving into app and web development and therefore these skills will be essential in setting me apart in the market place. The exam was not easy, although some questions stretched me I thought it was a good way of evaluating the final outcome of the course. I would definitely recommend to others!

Pros: - everything is explained very clearly in terms of deadlines, webinar dates and what to expect from the course - Slack is a great tool where you can meet other students from around the world and also chat with people from the school - all questions... Read More are responded to very quickly and efficiently and everyone who works for the school is very nice - the course touches on basically all points necessary to get started in UX Cons: - too many metaphors used in the videos (I can see why it is useful to make parallels in order to simplify concepts, but it is used way too much) - the content is a bit too generic and basic and never really delves deep into any topic, which isn't good at all. For example, usability testing is discussed in two 3 or 4 minute videos! - the modules regarding how to use programs like Sketch and Axure are not really helpful. I already knew both programs before the course, so for people who know them, the modules are unnecessary and forced to take, and for people who don't know them, the content is so rudimentary, I don't see how it would help anyone learn the programs. Overall, a lot of content presented nicely and in bit sized chunks, so you do get a complete overview of all topics of UX fundamentals, BUT I wish things could be covered more in depth, even a little bit!

The teaching style is really effective, as new and possibly confusing UX and software concepts are explained efficiently by detailing examples of experience design of things outside of software. The projects were interesting and challenging and reinforce key concepts during the course and followed the design cycle of a significant project from beginning to end. Studying for the exam is much easier as you have developed a lot of skill from completing the projects, reviewing the course content before the exam reinforces the key concepts and information and gives you a great overview and deeper understanding of UX Design. I felt really confident in my skills as a UX designer after completing the course and had an excellent and impressive portfolio from the projects completed during course. There is also great advice on creating a portfolio online and getting a job. The content in the videos is high quality, with subtitles or closed captions available. During the regular webinars the UX mentor and course manager provide really great information and insights. The Slack channels for the course is great for lots of additional information either specific to a module or project you may be working on or more general UX topics. It feels great to have a community where the students can get support and help each other. The course managers answer questions regularly and are easy to contact through Slack or email. Course UX mentors also answer questions on Slack. I really enjoyed my experience during this course. The course is accredited by a University, which was a key factor for me choosing it. Considering the quality of the course material and delivery and the recognised accredited diploma provided after completing the course, I thought this course was excellent value for money for someone who really wants to get a job in UX design.
