They never got tired of me asking a lot of questions and they were always ready to step in whenever someone needed help. The pacing of the program is really on point! I’d like to thank Allan who really made sure that we follow through with the process. The TA’s too did a great job answering questions making sure that we really understood the concepts. Yellow Tail Tech is a great team to really learn from, they’re second to none!

This program is on a whole other level! The instructors are top-tier, especially David Baker. He’s honestly even better than my college professor! He keeps it fun and light for us. The modules are very easy to understand. Even though it’s technical, they... Read More designed it in a way that’s understandable for people without any technical knowledge. I appreciate that. All of our classes are recorded so it’s kind of similar to self-paced but also with a guide. I can go through them anytime I want and if I have further questions, I can always attend a weekend review session or even a one on one session with our instructor. You won’t have any excuse for failing, it’s just really up to you to put in the work and that’s what I love about this program. There’s accountability and that’s very important for success.

I am not a big risk taker and this is actually the first time I’m trying out something new, something bold for my career and it paid off big time! After taking up the exam twice, I finally got my certification in Red Hat and 3 months after that, I got some offers right away! I was ecstatic. I know what I will be learning at this time and I know what I’m going to learn next. Yellow Tail Tech made sure we knew where we were going. After I finished my internship I started looking and applying for jobs and they’ve helped me with my resume and making sure that my LinkedIn profile is updated. They also made sure that I know how to answer my interviews so we did mock interviews. Me and my cohort classmates never stop communicating with each other and our instructors also talked to us giving us tips and everything. They still keep motivating us and that’s really great of them. I was studying while working at the same time and that’s really one of the challenges I have because sometimes I’m just really too tired. I couldn't join the class but it doesn’t mean I missed my lesson because they also provided us with a recording. I also practiced on my own and asked a lot of questions, anything I wouldn’t understand I would post it. My classmates were very helpful too. I absolutely, 100% recommend Yellow Tail Tech to anyone who wants to change and go into the IT industry.

It was my sister who told me about Yellow Tail Tech, her husband had enrolled in the program and he already passed his certification. She told me that they would give me a loan so I could enroll in their program. I just grabbed that opportunity and you know I did my best when I was in the program. The way Yellow Tail Tech handled the Linux for Jobs program was very neat. There were no confusing parts because everything was provided. If you need help in setting up, support is given to you, if you have questions you just post them then you’ll get your answer right away. There are even instructors who would respond to you even though it’s midnight. That’s how awesome Yellow Tail Tech is.

Having no IT background myself I needed to learn everything from scratch. The way the instructors also handed us the lessons it’s just awesome, they made sure everyone understood the topic before moving on to the next. They also told us to ask questions and to post them on Slack because there we could receive feedback not only from our instructors but from our classmates too. The videos and modules presented to us were also very helpful, and from time to time there are webinars that they do and it’s not really forced on us like it’s okay if we couldn’t join but those webinars also have a lot of information so it’s really awesome. The fact that I’m already in cert pre is really something that I’m proud of because there were times when I just felt lazy and I didn't feel like studying but then I always think of why. Why would I want to become an IT professional? That's something I’ve already put in my head. Yellow Tail Tech really did more than just 100% of their best when it comes to training students to have a career in tech, and it doesn’t end with just learning the lessons and knowing how to apply them in the real world, they also made sure that they will help you apply for the job you want. I love the mock interview because I like talking but they also teach you how to filter out the necessary stuff so that’s also what’s great about it. I think everyone should look into this opportunity of learning at Yellow Tail Tech.

Most of the time they extend the live sessions to help the students who need an extra hand. That speaks volume about how important our success... Read More is to them. They are so genuine about wanting us to succeed. The community is also very diverse. I’ve met with a lot of black Americans like myself and I am very happy with how Yellow Tail Tech is promoting their program to the minority. It’s so comforting knowing that tech is embracing us through this program.

I attended the AWS for Jobs program at Yellow Tail Tech because I wanted to upskill, so far from all the boot camps I have searched they charged lower than the others and when I read the reviews it made sense to enroll in their program. The way that the... Read More process is laid out it’s very high-quality and since it’s AWS there’s a lot of information to be absorbed but our instructors have been so helpful in providing us with just the right amount of information that it will not leave us having information overload. Most of the instructors at Yellow Tail Tech have been through the program and it’s one of the qualities that I also like about them because it just made the instructors kind of a role model to us. Every time we post pictures of our work, or send questions on Slack we always get feedback and I think that’s very helpful. Yellow Tail Tech is really the best school for anyone whether you have an IT experience or you don’t you will get the training to become an IT Professional.

I was still feeling bad about my last call so out of curiosity I went to Yellow Tail Tech’s website and scheduled a call. Fast forward, I’m now on cert prep, still working in customer service but I’ve been following the process since my job is on the day I have the whole night dedicated to studying and attending class. I’m not a tech-savvy person and I’ve never come across Linux before but Yellow Tail Tech helped me put my foot forward. I’m really excited about the next classes that I’ll be getting. I’m also happy because my instructors are very supportive and knowledgeable about what they’re teaching us. I like that they really push us while also teaching the topics slowly so that we can really absorb them. The pacing is really great, we’re not in a hurry but we still have a target so that’s really great for me. Studying the Linux for Jobs program not only helped me learn something new but also gave me a sense of purpose that I will not be answering calls for the rest of my life rather I will be a Linux System in the future. I have never been into IT before, that's why I’ve never really thought about getting into IT or having a career in it. While we were having a high school reunion my friend told me about Yellow Tail Tech and how she got into IT even without any career... Read More in tech, she wasn’t done with the program yet but she was already very excited about landing a job. So I tried to look into it. I went to Yellow Tail Tech’s website and found the program that's currently accepting students. I talked to them and enrolled in their Linux for Jobs program. I was really glad that the classes are held at night because I can still do my job as a teacher during the day. I like how they somehow prepared us first on the first day and supported us on how to set up our tools and get ready for class. All the instructors are very knowledgeable. They really helped us understand all the concepts while having a very nice interaction with us. I also like that they helped me improve my resume and optimize my LinkedIn account so I can land a good job. When I was still in my early days at Yellow Tail Tech I never really joined most of the activities given by the Career Success Coach but after I started creating my resume, and doing mock interviews I realized how important it was. So I would advise students to take advantage of everything that Yellow Tail Tech offers, like the webinars, and activities from the Career Success Coach, it’s very helpful.
